Oakland police searching for driver involved in fatal hit-and-run

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Oakland police are searching for the driver responsible for a deadly hit and run crash Friday night. 

The crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. near the intersection of 73rd Avenue and Holly Street in the city's Eastmont District, according to officials. 

Police said the driver struck a pedestrian and sped off. 

Authorities hae shut down traffic in the area while they investigate. 

The intersection could be closed for several more hours. %INLINE%
