Octopus enjoys Halloween treat
MONTEREY (KTVU) - You may have seen many of our reports about sea otters celebrating the holidays at the Monterey Bay Aquarium - but they don't get to have all the fun!
For Halloween, an octopus got in on the action.
An aquarist filled a jack-o-lantern with treats for the octopus.
Monterey Bay Aquarium spokesman Ken Peterson tells KTVU the jack-o-lantern was filled with a mix of prawns and small fish. The octopus went through the lid and the carved out jack-o-lantern with its tentacles to get the treats. "They're clever that way," said Peterson.
Peterson adds the sea otters will be getting a treat on Halloween. They'll feast on seasonally colored ice with frozen shrimp inside.
