Officer involved shooting leads to standoff at San Jose home

SAN JOSE (BCN) - Police are seeking a man who is believed to be hiding inside a San Jose home, following an officer involved shooting that occurred early Monday morning.

At 12:11 a.m., officer responded to the 1300 block of San Marcos Street, after a woman called to report that her brother had showed up to the residence intoxicated and with a gun, threatening to harm himself, according to police.

When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a man with a shotgun, police said.

Two officers fired their guns in the direction of the suspect, police said.

The suspect then retreated into the house. Officers set up a perimeter around the house, but as of 5:30 a.m., the suspect has not responded to police requests to come out, police said.

The two officers involved in the shooting were not injured, according to police.

The incident is the second officer involved shooting in San Jose in the last six hours.

On Sunday evening around 6:20 p.m., police fatally shot a person, who was suspected of stabbing a man, near East San Antonio Street and Packing Place, according to police.
