One child dead, others injured in San Ramon 680 Crash

SAN RAMON, Calif. (KTVU) - One 3-year-old has died and two other children were injured in an accident on Interstate 680 in San Ramon on Friday.
The accident happened at 6:20 p.m. on Friday, where a disabled 2007 Toyota Camry parked on the side of the expressway was rear ended by a white 2008 Toyota Sequoia SUV, according to California Highway Patrol.
The female driver of the Sequoia, 38-year-old Yarenit Liliana Malihan of Pleasanton, was transported to John Muir Medical Center and has been arrested for felony driving under the influence.
The three children in the Camry were taken to Oakland Children's Hospital, according to authorities. The children were accompanied by their mother in the Camry. An 11-year-old boy and 1-year-old girl were taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
CHP said the 3-year-old brother was airlifted to the hospital. As of 10:14 p.m., officers had confirmed that one of the victims has been pronounced deceased, although it is not yet clear which one.
According to traffic officials, the alert went into effect at 6:35 p.m. All lanes were blocked for some time until southbound lanes reopened around 7:15 p.m. Northbound lanes remained blocked until just before 9 p.m.
