One driver killed, another critically injured in San Jose crash near Oakridge Mall

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) -- - One driver was killed, while the other was severely injured in a two car crash Wednesday night near Oakridge Mall in San Jose, police said.

Authorities received a report just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, of a major injury traffic collision at Santa Teresa Boulevard and Highway 85.

Both drivers were rushed to the hospital.

One was pronounced dead, while the other is listed in critical condition.

There were no passengers in either car.

Authorities closed off the area for several hours, including on ramps, to investigate why the crash happened.
