One injured in shooting outside San Rafael party

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (KTVU) - San Rafael police advised the public to avoid the area of Fifth and California avenues Sunday morning due to police activity.
Police issued a Nixle alert advising of the closure at 6:20 a.m. and then canceled the stay away request around 11:30 a.m.
According to Sergeant Todd Berringer with San Rafael police, there was a party at a residence on 5th Avenue and some sort of a physical fight broke out between a group of people out front on the sidewalk.
During the altercation, a 20-year-old male from Santa Rosa was shot. He's being treated at a hospital.
Police say they have one suspect in custody. A 30-year-old male from Pullyap, Washington. Neither the victim nor the suspect live at the residence and neither have been identified.
