One killed, two wounded in separate Oakland shootings

A 60-year-old man was killed and two more men were wounded in a pair of shootings on International Boulevard in East Oakland on Tuesday, according to police.

A 44-year-old Oakland man suffering from gunshot wounds was located in the 1400 block of 74th Avenue, near International, at 4:39 p.m. and was transported to a hospital.

Then, just before 5 p.m., a 27-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds was transported to a hospital from the area around 14th Avenue and International.

Investigators later determined the two victims were involved in the same shooting, which police said took place in the 8800 block of International Boulevard.

The 27-year-old man is considered a suspect in the shooting and has been placed under arrest at the hospital. Two firearms have been recovered, according to police.

Then at 5:57 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of International. A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

Police said they have strong leads in the case and anticipate an arrest, but did not release any information about a possible suspect. All three gunshot victims were Oakland residents.
