One person killed in 3-car wreck on Oakland freeway

One person was killed in a three car crash early Saturday morning on Interstate 880 in Oakland.

The CHP said a vehicle stalled in a southbound lane, just after 1:30 a.m., near Highway 980.

Another car came by, and slammed into the first vehicle.

One man died at the scene, while two other people were injured.

Their conditions have not been released.

The CHP said a third car was also involved in the crash, but no one in that car was hurt.

Authorities said they do not know why the first car stalled, and it is too early to know if drugs or alcohol were factors to the crash.
