Pacifica Police investigate attempted kidnapping

Pacifica Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping.

It happened Tuesday in the area of Hickey and Firecrest Boulevard just before 5 p.m. Monday.

The child told police she was walking on the sidewalk when a man started honking at her.

He then yelled at her to get into his car, and when she didn't comply, police say the man grabbed the girl and tried to force her inside.

The girl was able to run away. She wasn't hurt.

The girl who was targeted apparently got a good look at the man. She described the man as Indian, 30 to 40 years old and 5'6" with a thin build. He had a trimmed beard and was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

He was driving a black, Volkswagen sedan with Texas plates.

He was last seen driving on Hickey Blvd. toward State Route 35.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen a car fitting that description should give police a call.
