Paralyzed teen honored with warm homecoming in Danville

On Sunday night, dozens of people lined the streets of Danville, to welcome home 18-year-old Jake Javier and his family.

The former San Ramon Valley High School football star was injured in a diving accident on his last day of high school back in June.

And for the last several months, he's been undergoing rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Colorado.

Jake says he was thrilled to see so many people turn out to welcome him home.

Before returning home, Jake and his family spent the weekend with what would've been his "teammates" on the Cal Poly football team.

The coaches made him an honorary captain and invited him onto the field, for the pre-game coin toss at the campus in San Luis Obispo.

Jake's mother says she's amazed by her son's positive spirit and determination.
