Pedestrian hit on 880 this morning, northbound lanes closed

HAYWARD,Calif. - A pedestrian was hit this morning on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward, California Highway Patrol officers said.

The collision was reported at about 5:45 a.m. just south of the West Tennyson Road off-ramp.

Officers issued a Sig-alert just after 6 a.m. when they blocked all northbound lanes on Highway 880 at Industrial Parkway West.

Traffic is being diverted off to Whipple Road. No further information is immediately available.
