A person died in Fremont early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run as fog blanketed the Bay Area.

Fremont police sent out a 4 a.m. alert, saying that the road was shut down on Paseo Padre Parkway at Waugh Place because of the fatal traffic investigation.

Police said that the pedestrian was found said at the scene and the driver of the car that hit the person was nowhere to be found.

Police did not comment on the weather but there is a dense fog advisory for much of the Bay Area until 10 a.m. and the scene was shrouded in fog.
