The CHP said that a 27-year-old Petaluma woman was killed early Saturday morning in unincorporated Sonoma County, in one of the first suspected Bay Area DUI crashes of the Memorial Day weekend.

According to authorities, the woman was driving a 2007 Toyota Rav4, that was going at a high rate of speed, north on Davis Lane at 12:20 a.m., near Rohnert Park.

She lost control, and her vehicle overturned south of East Railroad Avenue, said the CHP.

She was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the vehicle.

A friend trailing in a 2011 Honda Fit, then hit and killed her, said CHP.

Authorities identified the friend as Kyle Turek, 28, of Petaluma.

He was interviewed by a Highway Patrol deputy and a person from the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office, and then booked into the Sonoma County Jail, said CHP.

Turek was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, felony DUI, and driving wit a suspended license, according to authorities.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Turek and his friend went drinking at several bars and restaurants in Petaluma before the collision.
