Photos: Oakland zoo welcomes another baby baboon
OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - The Oakland Zoo announced the arrival of Kito, a male baby baboon born on September 2.
Kito marks the eighth baboon birth in four years and brings the total to 16 – the most of any U.S. zoo.
And it’s the attention to positive reinforcement training and enrichment from the animal care team that’s contributed to a successful baboon care program. They’ve created a large, naturalistic environment which encourages a more natural social interaction in the large troop.
