Triple stabbing following car theft leaves 1 dead: Berkeley police
BERKELEY, Calif. - A woman has died, and two men are hospitalized following a stabbing incident in Berkeley Saturday afternoon.
Police responded to the 1300 block of Russell Avenue around 12:20 p.m. over reports of a stolen car, officials said. As they were arriving, dispatchers began receiving calls that several people were lying on the ground bleeding from witnesses.
At the scene, police found two men and a woman with stab wounds. The trio were all taken to a hospital, officials said. The woman eventually died from her injuries.
The men were last reported to be in stable condition.
What we don't know:
Police shut down the area on Acton Street between Russell and Burnett Streets. It's unclear if the road closures are still in place while police maintain a presence and work the scene.
While the initial car about the area was about a stolen car, the details that led to the stabbings are still unknown at this time.
