Police in Berkeley looking for armed robbery suspect
BERKELEY, Calif. (KTVU) - Police in Berkeley say they are looking for a suspect in connection to an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery that both occurred Wednesday.
Police say the first attempt happened at 9:50 p.m. near UC Berkeley campus on Virginia Street near Le Roy Avenue. A male victim was said to have been approached by the suspect who was allegedly holding a handgun. After making a demand for the victim’s belongings, the victim made a run for it and nothing was stolen.
Then around 11:58 p.m. a suspect matching the same description approached three victims and simulated that a handgun was in his waistband and demanded the victims’ property. This time, the victims complied and the suspect escaped in what was described as a dark-colored older model sedan.
Berkeley police offered the following suspect description:
A Black male, 20-30 in age, 5'7" to 5'10" in height, with a medium build, light complexion, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, and dark pants.
