Police search for missing Berkeley woman

Police are asking the public's help in locating a 62-year-old Berkeley woman who went missing after leaving her office in Oakland on Friday morning.

Her colleagues identified her as Gail Saari. Police provided a different name for her: Diana Hajisaari.

She left the office at 100 Swan Way near Oakland International Airport  at about 10:30 a.m. Friday and hasn't been seen or heard from since, according to police.

Investigators say there was a possible sighting of the woman on Friday afternoon, at the nearby Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline park. Police say they searched that area but were not able to locate her.

The woman is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a tweed jacket and a gray shirt, police said.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts has been asked to contact the Oakland police missing persons unit at (510) 238-3641.
