Professional surfer injured at Mavericks

A professional surfer was injured Thursday while surfing large waves at Mavericks, south of San Francisco. 

Garrett McNamara reportedly dislocated a shoulder when he fell off his board and was crushed by a massive wave. Witnesses say he was taken away in an ambulance, but is expected to be okay.

Mavericks is located on the Pacific Ocean, just north of Half Moon Bay and is the home of the professional surfing competition Titans of Mavericks.
