Recent shootings leave Berkeley neighbors on edge

Neighbors in one part of Berkeley are on edge after another shooting Sunday night, which left two people injured.

More officers are patrolling an area of south Berkeley where there have been a number of shootings over the past couple weeks.

Just last night a man and woman were shot on King Street near Alcatraz.

Neighbors say they were in a car  that was parked there.

Neighbors called 911 to report gunfire just before 8:30 p.m.

One of the victims was shot in the stomach, while the other was hit in the leg.

They were taken to the hospital and both the man and woman are expected to survive.

People who live nearby are feeling anxious after this latest shooting in this part of town.

Last Thursday night  a 19-year-old man was gunned down while standing with a group of people on the corner of Harper and Fairview streets.

No one has been arrested in connection with that killing.

Police aren't sure if any of the recent shootings are connected but officers are increasing patrols.
