Retired Sutter County K-9 officer dies after 10 years of service

It was a sad day for the Sutter County Sheriff's Office as they had to say goodbye to one of their own, a retired sheriff's office K-9 officer.

The Sutter County Sheriff's Office put out an end of watch call Monday for K-9 Karo as he laid on a table covered in an American flag.

Karo started with the sheriff's department in 2007 and "was a sweet dog that was known for his wicked leg bites," the Sutter County K-9 Association wrote on Facebook.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his handler and family during this difficult time," the Facebook post said. "The bond between a handler and K-9 is hard to describe but those fortunate to experience it know how great it is, which makes it that much harder to say goodbye."
