S.F. gun buyback offers cash for firearms

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - A gun buyback event in San Francisco is offering cash in exchange for firearms.

San Francisco police and the community group “United Playaz” are co-hosting the event Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon outside the “United Playaz” office at 1038 Howard Street.

Police are offering $100 dollars for handguns and $200 for assault-style weapons.

Police say people can turn in their guns, no questions asked.

950 guns have been turned in at buyback events in the city since 2011, according to San Francisco police.
