SAN JOSE (KTVU & BCN) -- Santa Clara County law enforcement authorities have arrested a man linked to over 10,000 images and videos of child pornography, authorities said Monday.

Dennis Valle Cruz, 61, of San Jose, was taken into custody on Sunday, Oct. 2 after investigators executed a search warrant at his house, officials said in a written statement. Cruz was arrested on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography and was booked into the Santa Clara jail, the statement said.

He was being held on $50,000 bail, according to online jail records.

Authorities said members of the county's Sexual Assault Felony Task Force downloaded 10,000 pornographic images from digital files linked to Cruz.

Investigators learned Cruz owned the images and tracked him down to a San Jose address, according to Santa Clara sheriff's Sgt. Richard Glennon

Detectives served a search warrant around 7 a.m. at the suspect's home in the 1700 block of Oakwood Avenue with help from the FBI and San Jose Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Glennon said.

According to the written statement, investigators found over 1,000 more images and videos while carrying out the search warrant at Cruz's residence.

The Santa Clara sheriff's office with help from the FBI and San Jose task force participated in the search of the suspect's home, the statement said.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Santa Clara sheriff's SAFE task force at 408-808-4300.
