San Jose Police investigating Sunday night double homicide

SAN JOSE, Calif (KTVU) -  

San Jose Police are investigating the shooting deaths of two brothers Sunday evening near San Jose State University.

At around 8:45 PM, police were dispatched to the 900 block of South 8th Street on reports of multiple shots fired.

Once on scene, officers discovered two men had been shot.

One man was pronounced dead on scene, the second man died a short time later after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Witnesses tell police that a car drove up to the scene and fired multiple shots at the men who were outside a house.

Police sources tell KTVU that the men were brothers and that they are believed to have lived in the area where the shooting occurred, however, the identity of the victims has not been officially released.

No suspects have been identified or apprehended. 

Police are investigating whether the incident is gang-related.
