Bay Area high school students will hold a summit today in San Jose for their peers to learn about climate change and talk about what they can do to alleviate it, organizers said.

The summit starts at 9 a.m. at The Tech Museum of Innovation at 201 S. Market St.

The Tech for Global Good Youth Climate Action Summit is expected to draw hundreds of students together and comes following a United Nations report that Earth faces tremendous consequences from climate change as early as 2040, according to organizers.

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo will give the closing remarks.
