San Leandro P.D. arrest 2 suspects after shelter in place
Police have arrested two suspects after conducting a search in San Leandro and imposing a shelter in place this afternoon.
Police announced the arrests around 8:30 p.m.
Lt. Robert McManus told KTVU they were searching for several armed suspects.
Officers, K9s and a helicopter were in the area of Arthur Ave, Jean Way, Midway Avenue and North Boulevard, according to a statement posted online at 4:25 p.m.
Lt. Isasc Benabou said a shooting incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. in a residential neighborhood near Davis Street and Douglas Drive. The suspects shot into a vehicle, according to police. The two victims suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and were treated at the scene, Benabou said.
Earlier, police said they have the suspects contained in a perimeter and have activated their SWAT team and are conducting searches.
The residential area is in a neighborhood near the junction of state Highway 112 and Interstate Highway 880.
The suspects are wanted in connection in with a shooting, according to police. Further details were not immediately available.
