At least one person fired shots at the Santa Clara police headquarters over the weekend, a police spokesman said Monday.

The shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday at the police building at 601 El Camino Real, police Lt. Kurt Clarke said. Three rounds struck and damaged the south side of the building.

"This is the first time someone has shot at the building and it's alarming for us," said Clarke.

The building was occupied at the time but no injuries were reported.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Detective Sgt. Tony Parker at (408) 615-4813. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call the police tip line at (408) 241-9495.
