Santa Rosa changes location to get entry passes to burn areas

SANTA ROSA (BCN)-- Entry passes to the Coffey Park and Fountaingrove burn areas of Santa Rosa will now be issued at the Santa Rosa Transportation and Public Works Department, city officials said this morning.

The passes will be issued between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 69 Stony Circle. The field check-in points to the areas at Kohl's department store and on Round Barn Boulevard have been closed.

Only residents and property owners with a valid form of identification can enter the two controlled-access areas. The controlled entry will continue through Sunday.

Homeowners' insurance representatives, construction contractors or other homeowners' consultants must be accompanied by a homeowner to enter the controlled areas.

There currently is no authorized construction or debris removal, and cleanup and smoke damage mitigation of habitable homes and businesses will be allowed soon, city officials said.

Residents of the Journey's End Mobile Home Park and the Orchard neighborhood have been allowed to return.

The city has restricted entry to the controlled access areas between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The entry will require authorization from the city and may require an entry pass.
