Santa Rosa police release sketch of home intruder suspect

(Santa Rosa Police Department)

Santa Rosa police released a sketch on Tuesday of a man found inside a residence in northwest Santa Rosa in December.

The suspect fled when the resident of the home in the 2700 block of McBride Lane confronted him around 3:20 a.m. on Dec. 12, police Sgt. Terry Anderson said.

The resident chased the suspect and caught him on nearby Range Avenue, Anderson said. The suspect said he was looking for money and told the resident he would shoot him if he didn't leave him alone, Anderson said. The suspect then threw a rock at the resident and ran away.

Based on the resident's description, police developed a sketch of the suspect on Jan. 7, Anderson said.

The suspect is a Hispanic man in his 40s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a full black beard, black hair on the sides and a shiny bald area on top of his head, Anderson said.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and white shoes and he spoke English with a slight accent, Anderson said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Santa Rosa Police Department's tip line at (707) 543-4040.
