"Security incident" delays travelers at San Jose Mineta International Airport
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU/BCN) - Outbound traffic from Terminal A at Mineta San Jose International Airport may be delayed up to two hours this evening because unsafe items may have gotten through security, an airport spokeswoman said.
Travelers numbering about 200 were asked to leave Terminal A at about 4:15 p.m. so the terminal could be checked to be sure it's safe, airport spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes said.
Airport gates one to 16 are located in Terminal A.
Passengers traveling on a number of airlines including Aeromexico, Air Canada, Air China, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, Jet Blue, United Airlines and Volaris could be affected.
Inbound traffic may be delayed too, Barnes said.
Airport officials recommend checking with the airlines to see whether a flight is delayed.
