San Francisco Zoo animals have joined in on the holiday festivities this Fourth of July.

Watermelon slices were presented on Thursday to the lemurs at the zoo to commemorate the special occasion.

They devoured the slices that were hung from beams while zoo visitors watched them munch along.

According to the zoo's Director of Communications Nancy Chan, watermelon is among the lemurs’ favorite treats.

This is part of a four-day 4th of July celebration hosted by the SF Zoo that features a family-friendly zip line, an outdoor BBQ and live music.
