SFPD arrests four suspects during Potrero Hill search

Police have taken four suspects into custody early Wednesday evening after a search that started when officers initiated a traffic stop on surface streets in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers said the man bailed from a vehicle at 3:23 p.m. near the Mariposa Street on- and off-ramps to Interstate Highway 280, near Indiana Street. Police later said that three additional suspects were being sought.

Authorities closed the Mariposa Street ramp connecting to Highway 280 and several streets in the vicinity during the search.

Police continued to search the area and at about 5:20 p.m. tweeted out that a total of four suspects had been arrested.

Police said one of the suspects is wanted in connection with a homicide case in Oakland, but they have not publicly released his identity.

The perimeter set up during the search is being broken down and streets were set to be reopened shortly after the arrests were announced.
