SFPD gives all clear sign after Embarcadero bomb scare

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) -- A suspicious device caused some uneasiness Saturday afternoon in downtown San Francisco.
Police tell KTVU that a backpack was discovered laying at the Embarcadero and Harrison Street, sometime around 2 p.m.
As a precaution, police and firefighters sealed off the area from Folsom to Bryant.
Officers brought ina bomb-sniffing dog to check out the backpack.
Bomb technicians did not say what items were inside the backpack, but announced there was no threat, and gave the all clear sign at about 3 p.m..
The police activity had blocked four Muni rail lines: N Judah, K Ingleside, T Third and E Embarcadero.
Muni ran bus shuttles to ease the delay.
