Shooting shuts down eastbound lanes of I-80 at American Canyon Rd.

VALLEJO, Calif. (KTVU) - Solano County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a freeway shooting on Interstate 80 in Vallejo Friday evening. 

California Highway Patrol shutdown all eastbound lanes of I-80 east of American Canyon Road in Solano County. All lanes reopened shortly before 9 p.m.

CHP said a male driver was headed east in a white Mercedes-Benz when he was shot in the torso. CHP said he suffered non-life threatening injuries. There is no suspect information currently available. 

The shooting occurred just east of American Canyon Road around 5 p.m. and a Sig-alert was issued at 5:06 p.m.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and to expect delays.
