Six Flags Magic Mountain evacuated as crews battle nearby two-alarm brush fire

VALENCIA (FOX 11) - L.A. County firefighters in Santa Clarita are responding to a two-alarm brush fire near Six Flags Magic Mountain near The Old Road and Stevenson Ranch Parkway on Sunday afternoon around noon.

Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor were evacuated Sunday as firefighters battle a brush fire burning near the amusement park in Valencia.

Fire officials say the two-alarm Sky Fire has grown to 40 acres and is 20-percent contained.

According to the amusement parks' Twitter account, 'Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor are currently being evacuated due to the Sky Incident brush fire.   The safety and well being of our guests and team members is our top priority..

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Sigalert was issued in Valencia on the SB I-5 at Magic Mtn. Parkway, the off-ramp will be blocked for 1 1/2 hrs due to the brush fire.

The LA County Fire department said that nine people were transported to the hospital due to smoke exposure. 

Sunday's high temperature in Santa Clarita was 98 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
