SJPD investigating homicide; person of interest has been detained

San Jose Police were at the scene of a homicide early Wednesday morning.

Officers received a call at about 3:17 a.m., about a fight at a home on the 1700 block of Ocala Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim with visible injuries.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at the scene.

Authorities have not said whether the person was stabbed, shot, or beaten to death.

There were three other people inside the house.

Police say they have detained a person of interest in the case, and will be questioned by investigators.

The case is now being handled by the San Jose Police Homicide Unit.

Officers say they are now looking into a motive behind the attack.

The victim's identity will be released after his family is notified of his death.
