Sonoma County authorities 'mitigate' explosive device found at PG&E substation; no threat to public

A suspected explosive device at the PG&E substation on River Road in Fulton is no longer a threat to the public, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office. 

Someone called the Sheriff's department at 3:55 p.m. on Thursday to report a suspicious object seen at the PG&E facility on 699 River Road in Fulton, according to Misti Harris with the Sonoma County Sheriff's office. 

Deputies announced the suspicious device was 'mitigated' by the bomb squad at 6:29 p.m. The southbound Highway 101 on and off ramps at River Road reopened shortly after.
