Spare the air alert issued for Thursday and Friday

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - Residents of the San Francisco Bay Area are urged to avoid exercising outdoors this evening because of "unhealthy" air, officials with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District said.
District officials issued a late Spare the Air alert for today and for Friday because smoke from wildfires, which was over the Pacific Ocean, is blowing into the area.
The alerts are the ninth and 10th of summer Spare the Air season.
