CARMEL, Calif. (KTVU) – The SPCA for Monterey County is looking for the siblings of three puppies who were recently rescued in Carmel.

The five-week-old pit bull mixes were being sold illegally by their owner before they were old enough to be separated from their mother, according to the SPCA for Monterey County.

The person selling the puppies told buyers the puppies had been vaccinated, but they have no history of vaccinations, according to the SPCA for Monterey County.

It’s a misdemeanor in California for any person to sell puppies under eight-weeks-old without getting approval from a veterinarian.

Anyone who may have purchased one of the puppies is being asked to call the SPCA at 831-373-2631.
