Stanford University investigating noose found on campus

STANFORD, Calif. (KTVU) - Stanford University on Tuesday said it launched an investigation into the discovery of a noose hanging from a small tree on campus over the weekend.
According to the university, the noose was reportedly found near a residence hall where summer students were staying.
In a statement, Stanford said the incident is being investigated as a "suspicious circumstance, but if additional evidence comes to light, it may be re-classified as a hate crime."
