Storm brings more than 1 inch of rain to 8 Bay Area counties

More than an inch of rain was recorded in eight Bay Area counties on Christmas Eve into early this morning, according to the National Weather Service. 

From 4 a.m. Monday to 4 a.m. Wednesday, 1.56 inches was recorded in San Francisco, with three-quarters of an inch recorded downtown. 

In Alameda County, 1.39 inches was reported, while in Santa Clara County as much as 1.2 inches fell. 

Weather officials said in the Russian Ridge Open Space in San Mateo County 1.18 inches fell, while 1.4 inches fell on Mallory Ridge in Contra Costa County. 

In the North Bay, 1.61 inches fell in Marin County, 1.69 inches in Napa County and 1.28 inches in Sonoma County. 

In Solano County, less than a half an inch fell. Elsewhere, the storm brought 2.09 inches to Monterey County and 1.31 inches to Santa Cruz County.
