Surveillance video: Armed suspect in acid wash jeans tries to rob UC Berkeley student

BERKELEY, Calif. - UC Berkeley police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who attacked a Ca student over the weekend. The student ended up fighting with the armed man and was able to escape.

The suspect approached the student at College Avenue and Channing Way on Saturday at 4:30 a.m. but after a struggle, the suspect followed the student  who fled to a residence hall.

The surveillance video from the hall captured a photo of the suspect in the doorway of the residence hall, standing over the victim, who fell on the ground.

The student struggled with the suspect who was holding a handgun and managed to break free and escape into one of the student resident halls.

The suspect is described as  a man in his 20s, approximately 5 foot 8 and 175 pounds with short dark hair.

He was wearing a black hoodie with red writing on the front, acid wash jeans and a handgun was in his left hand.
