A man was arrested for murder following a home invasion that occurred in unincorporated Los Gatos Wednesday morning. Another person died after a crash in Campbell following the pursuit of a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting.

Andre Redmon, 43, was arrested for murder, false imprisonment, kidnapping with intent to rob and burglary.
Deputies responded at about 10:50 a.m. to reports of shots fired on Madrone Drive and arrived to find a man fatally shot in a home there, according to authorities.

Two other men were also found injured in the home. One was treated at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The victims and witnesses described the suspect vehicle in the shooting as a Toyota Prius and deputies eventually located it in the area of state Highway 17 and Lark Avenue.

The Prius exited the highway at East Hamilton Avenue and crashed into a wall. The driver, later identified as Redmon, fled on foot but was quickly detained by deputies.

A male passenger in the Prius was found injured and was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police are not calling the passenger a suspect in the case. His role in Wednesday's events is unclear.

"It was a very serious crime. Two people were killed. We don't know the association. It was a high-speed pursuit on Highway 17. They were suspects in a violent crime,” said Sgt. James Jensen Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

At this point, it's unclear if Redmon had targeted the home, or selected it at random.

The identities of the two people who died have not yet been released.

The case remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
