Suspect in Austin downtown shooting arrested in Atlanta

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Police say they've found the man suspected of opening fire in a crowded downtown Austin entertainment district and killing a bystander.

The Austin Police Department said U.S. marshals arrested a 24-year-old man in Atlanta on Wednesday morning.

The man had been wanted since the shooting early Sunday that police say caused "chaos" along Austin's famed Sixth Street of music clubs.

Authorities say he was likely aiming for someone else when a bullet struck and killed a 20-year-old woman who was downtown with her wife.  She has been identified as Teqnika Marie Moultrie of San Carlos. Three other women were also hospitalized.

A judge this week signed a warrant and set bond for the suspect at $2 million.

Court documents show that a witness told police that the man pulled a handgun out of his waistband and began firing after being shoved by another man.
