Systemwide BART delays

A system wide delay occurring on BART this morning was caused by a power outage near the Daly City station, BART officials said.

The power went out at about 8 a.m., which caused BART crews to have to manually set the routes on trains. At the height of the delays, trains were running 30 to 60 minutes behind schedule south of Daly City, but delays are not as long now.

A separate equipment problem on the Richmond line also caused crews to have to manually set routes on trains. That problem also occurred at about 8 a.m.

Trains are still moving through all stations, but major delays persist systemwide, BART officials said.
