Taylor Farm's Bob Borzone talks all things pumpkin
OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Bob Borzone from Taylor Farms stopped by KTVU to talk all things pumpkin.
There are plenty of options that go above and beyond your average Jack-o'-lantern.
The 'Knuckle-head Pumpkin' is bred to have a "ghoulish" look. It is edible, but it won't have the same flavor profile as other pumpkins. There's also a green pumpkin with white splotches called a "Cheetah Pumpkin."
The "Fairytale Pumpkin is a popular variety. It gets its name from its resemblance to Cinderella's carriage.
There's also a variety called the Cinderella Pumpkin, which is a deep orange color. It has a lot of flesh, which make them a great option for pumpkin pie. Although the small, orange pumpkins - called pie pumpkins - have the sweetest flavor profile for pumpkin pie, according to Borzone.
