Teen arrested in connection with three Vallejo homicides

VALLEJO, Calif. (KTVU and wires) -- A 19-year-old Vallejo resident has been arrested in connection with three separate recent murders, authorities said.

Lorenzo Mateo Cortez, 19, who was already in custody at the Solano County Jail, was arrested on three counts of suspicion of murder in the killings of Isaac Lopez Reid, Luis Doctolero Perez and William Brown, police said.

Reid was shot in killed Nov. 3, 2014 in the area of Maple and Georgia streets, Perez was shot and killed Dec. 20, 2014 in Hanns Park on Redwood Parkway, and Brown was shot and killed on Jan. 10 in the area of Magazine and Del Sur streets, police said.

Police said extensive investigations into the three deaths led to Cortez's arrest.

Also on Tuesday, law enforcement officials made three other arrests police said were connected to the killings.

Detectives from the Vallejo Police Department arrested a 17-year-old Vallejo resident in Los Banos on suspicion of murder in connection with the killings of Perez and Reid.

Vallejo detectives and agents from the FBI Violent Crime Safe Streets Task Force and the Solano Sheriff's Office Enforcement Team arrested 52-year-old John Johnson, of Vallejo, on suspicion of accessory to murder in connection with Perez's killing.

Johnson's daughter, identified as Angelica Johnson, was arrested in Pasadena by officers with the Vallejo Police Department and the Pasadena Police Department on suspicion of murder in connection to the killing of Perez, police said.
