That Kid's Got Game: Freshman phenom scores 3 touchdowns playing varsity

A freshman wide receiver at Vacaville Christian High school scored three touchdowns in just his second game as a high school athlete. And he did it playing for the varsity team.

Kendall Allen nearly had four touchdowns, but a penalty brought one back in the Aug. 24 39-0 rout over Turlock Christian. So for thrusting his team to victory, and for earning an Offensive Player of the Game nod from MaxPreps, Kendall is this week’s talent on That Kid’s Got Game

“He is very competitive at any sports he plays,” said Kendall’s mother, Monique Allen, who added the wide receiver is also a two-time junior Olympian in track and field and plays basketball. “His goal is to set new records in each area and eventually have a career in professional sports.”

Kendall has an ability to create separation from his defender – both while running his route and after the catch. And his quarterback seems confident in his ability to go up and snag a lob-pass. Plus, after Kendall makes a catch, he can really turn the corner and get up the field.

Allen shares that she and her husband are especially proud of their son and the kids at Vacaville Christian, as the football program just recently started back up after a two-year stall.

“Our entire community was excited to see the team have a successful game,” Allen said. “[Kendall] and his teammates just want to see the school succeed.”

Kendall has his eyes set on being a Division 1 athlete with no specific preference on the three aforementioned sports. Stanford and UCLA are the only California schools on his top six desired colleges, which includes the University of Alabama and the University of Oregon.

When he’s not training, he’s sharpening his entrepreneurial skills. In 2016, Kendal launched “KA Socks,” a custom-sock business that generates revenue to sponsor a Special Olympics team and support Vacaville’s homeless community.

Well, the high school football season is young. Something tells us we’ll get more submissions of Kendall on the field.
