SONOMA, Calif. (KTVU) - The Sonoma Raceway is hosting an “eco-marathon.”
Hundreds of high school and college students from around the world on Saturday are competing to see who can build the most energy efficient vehicle.
There are cars student built from scratch. The students – in teams – will test them out on the track o determine which car can go the farthest on the least amount of energy.
The event is free.
Teams from three California colleges are entered in this challenge. They are from UC Berkeley, Cal State Sacramento, and Cal Poly.
