Thousands of chopsticks spill onto Hayward highway

HAYWARD, Calif. - A Hayward highway was temporarily shut down due to a sticky situation: thousands of chopsticks spilling from a vehicle's cargo load.
The spillage happened Friday afternoon on Interstate 580 at Redwood Road.
California Highway Patrol spent some time playing a game of "pick-up sticks" while they worked to make the roadway safe for drivers.
No injuries were reported related to the spill.
"Let this be your reminder to secure your load! Don’t let your cargo take an unplanned detour," the CHP said.
