Three-alarm fire erupts at Antioch apartment complex
ANTIOCH, Calif. (KTVU and wires) -- A three-alarm fire erupted at an apartment complex in Antioch Wednesday morning, sending residents running to safety and a plume of black smoke high into the sky.
A Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said the fire was reported at 8:18 a.m. the Delta Pines Apartments at 2301 Sycamore Drive.
Fire Inspector Steve Aubert said arrived to find thick black smoke coming from one apartment module, which appears to contain several apartment units.
The two-story conjoined units share attic space and the fire quickly spread from one set of apartments to the next, he said.
No injuries have been reported in the fire, authorities said.
Residents from the 32 apartments in the complex have been evacuated and taken to a "safe zone," Aubert said.
